On Halloween 2010 the BHALDI team launched its first 2 systems, BHALDI I and BHALDI II. Both were recovered successfully. This page profiles the BHALDI I system, describes its flight and recovery, and provides highlights of the video captured by its on-board HD video camera.
BHALDI I was launched from Plymouth, MN and traveled approximately 90,000 vertical feet and 90 nautical miles. BHALDI I landed in a tree near Arcadia, WI, and we were unable to retrieve its payload until 2 days later on November 2, 2010.
